Deadly döner
Doner kebabs sold in the UK contain "shocking" levels of salt, fat and calories, a survey has concluded. . .And then, this:Among the kebabs sampled - without salad or sauces - the average doner contained 98% of an adult's recommended daily salt and 148% of their daily saturated fat allowance. . .
The worst doners inspectors came across contained 1,990 calories before salad and sauces - over 95% of a woman's recommended daily calories, 346% of a woman's saturated fat intake and 277% of an adult's daily salt intake.
Six kebabs were found to include pork when it had not been declared as an ingredient. Two of the six were described as Halal - food or drink permitted for Muslims, which must not contain pork. From the BBC.

No wonder they taste so good!
Did you see that the inventor of doner kebab died? Or did I pick that up from you?

Well now.
For "halal" use "kosher" - not exactly the same, but pork is a no-no for [some] non-Muslims.
More fat, salt, etc/ than daily dose? Um, that is the recommended dosage, which the press (and all too many "health" workers including doctors) fail to mention are often minimum requirements. But then, when these requirements are promulgated it is seldom stated whether they are minima or maxima. With salt and fat, yes, probably recommended max. For extended periods: one day per week is not a problem, at least for salt (barring existing specific medical problem) which is easily passed.
No, this is just scare tactics. Another example - one day after MSM reported on a study that showed a correlation (not necessarily causation) between some types of bacteria in the digestive tract and chronic overweight, articles about "catching" obesity from a fat person have started to appear -

Yeah. If you go around swallowing other people's stomsch/intestinal content. Much as you can get an ulcer that way if the supplier of internal digestive contents has H. Pylori.
OTOH, the content of the kebab is not even from the same animal, let be the same part, as advertised? THAT is a very different thing.
At least make up something mythical, like the "scrod" we enjoy here in New England. No such beast - yet we know roughly what to expect and it ain't tuna or bacon!
