Kalamazoo, deconstructed
Who would have expected to see a dissection of the mammoth Kalamazoo Medieval Studies conference in the Weekly Standard? Titled "A Dark Age for Medievalists", it starts out as a sally against political correctness and fashionable postmodernism, but soon moves into a more broad description of the whole wacky event. OK, read and discuss.

Medieval? Hardly the start of humourous scatalogical references. Romans chuckled about errors passing the cleaning swab. Do apes other than humans find humor therein? Why else would monkeys fling feces?
But once past the pseudo-class-struggles, information of interest may be gained. Pity about having through so much waste to get at it.
