Last call for Airfix?

Iconic model-maker name Airfix faces an uncertain future following parent firm Humbrol's entry into administration.

Since 1949, generations of children have struggled over plastic kit parts and tubes of glue. . .

Thirty-one of 41 staff at the Hull firm have lost their jobs, with Grant Thornton of Leeds named administrators.

From the BBC.

ADDENDUM: Airfix memories here.

I had hours of fun making Airfix-models. Of course they eventually all fell victim to my mum’s duster. It's a real shame that things turn out this way for Airfix, although it doesn’t surprise me. Modelling is something of the past; in stead of struggling “over plastic kit parts and tubes of glue” the younger generation spends it’s time glued to a computer screen.
