Million-dollar weathervane

A rare American Goddess of Liberty weathervane made by William Henis, Philadelphia mid 19th century, gilt molded copper painted and sheet iron estimated to bring $60,000 - $90,000 broke the record price for a weathervane when it sold January 20 at Christie’s in New York for a hammer price of $950,000. With the 20/12% buyer’s premium the full price came to $1,080,000.
