Morocco loan exhibition in Amsterdam

Bronze statues from Roman times, Phoenician jewellery, a 14th century wooden pulpit from a mosque, colourful mosaics: the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam has put 300 art treasures from Morocco on exhibit that it hopes will change how Dutch view people of Moroccan descent.

In the making for more than two years, this exhibition dedicated to Morocco and its "uniquely rich and varied culture" celebrates 400 years of Moroccan-Dutch relations, with King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander acting as co-patrons.
