The Temple Mount: one man's rubble . . .

It's a long running story: a site so politically sensitive that the Israeli authorities refuse to assert their authority there, even in the face of systematic destruction of one of the world's most important archeological sites. As usual, Palaeojudaica is on the story, with recent posts here and here regarding the recent decision by an Israeli court allowing archeologists to have a go at some 3,000 tons of earth and rubble recently removed from the site (allegedly of no archeological significance, and due to be dumped conveniently unexamined).
