The right tool for the job

Bad preparation in Florida:

. . . the 16-year-old pointed the gun at the store clerk and then went to load the .22 caliber rifle.

With .40 caliber ammunition.

Probably couldn't figure out the shape-sorter back in preschool, either.
Three customers watched as the teen, who the Herald is not naming because of his age, raised the gun again. . .

A customer, realizing the gun wasn't loaded, tackled the teen. Two others helped until police arrived. One of the men kicked the teen, who was about six feet tall and 175 pounds, and stood on him.

Mr Jackson has a favorite line. "It costs less to educate a person then it does to imprison him". Well I always reply to people who say it. "Their stupidity is one of the advantages we have over them."

It might well cost a lot more than average to educate some of these folks, if it is even possible (bringing to mind the parable about spreading seed on various types of soil - this guy sounds like shallow, hard-packed, stony soil).
