Can't buy me love education

Joanne Jacobs comments on Bridgehampton, Long Island, whose summer-home tax base allows it to spend a staggering $45,090 annually on each of its 153 public school students. The results? Below NY state averages, across the board. Schools should be adequately funded, of course, but it is useful to remember that school funding isn't the deciding factor in how kids learn (remember the word gap?).
