Cellphone trick or treat

The Register has reported on the large number of British mobiles that meet their end by being dropped in the toilet. Here in the USA, one poor commuter reached in after his, and got his arm caught:

A railroad supervisor was unable to free Mr. Gallart's arm and rescue crews were summoned to meet the train at the Fordham station.

Firefighters used three sets of power tools, including the jaws of life, to slice through the toilet. Meanwhile, thousands of commuters were inconvenienced as northbound local trains were rerouted, unable to reach the other Bronx stations. Passengers had to go to the Mount Vernon West station in Westchester County and pick up southbound trains.

Efforts to reach Mr. Gallart yesterday were unsuccessful. A group of reporters and camera crews waited outside his brick two-story home on East 232nd Street

Ah, fame.
