Practical origami

A prisoner facing a life sentence made a fake gun out of paper and cardboard and escaped from a courtroom Monday.

Harold McCord used the fake gun to threaten guards, then shed his jail clothes and hijacked a pickup truck, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Don't know if you caught it, but a state legislator in Maryland is trying to ban toy guns. I guess now she will have to go further and ban paper as well (or maybe just the teaching of Origami skills)...

The banning of realistic toy guns isn't all that new. Many manufacturers voluntarily started making toy guns in bright colors in response to police shootings which resulted from toys which looked a little too realistic.

As for the paper ban, or regulation of origami skills . . . hmmm, Licensed to Fold!
