Medieval church tiles sold by mistake
A proper mess in Norfolk:
They should have been among the finishing touches to the remarkable renaissance of a Norfolk church. Instead, the priceless mediaeval pamments which once graced the floor of St Mary the Virgin are at the heart of a dispute between the church trustees and Breckland Council. While in storage, the tiles were sold by the local parochial church council for £160 (which would suggest that they have either been reused, or have gone into the antiques market).
